Dharma School

Two Lumbini Class students, Sora and Thomas, joined the Steveston Dharma School students for their Hoonko observance of Shinran Shonin’s memorial. They heard a lovely story by guest minister, Reverend Eric Matsumoto of Moiliili Mission in Honolulu, about a jar full of golf balls representing the most important things in our lives. You might try asking them for all of the story!
On January 23rd , the students will have enjoyed an afternoon of bowling and pizza at Rev’s. Perhaps we’ll have photos of the outing in the next issue.
On the last Sunday of January, the older students will be asked to stay after classes to help make the sauce for the spaghetti dinner which will be served once more to our neighbours at the LivingRoom on Saturday, February 26th . The sauce will be frozen until the 26th. We welcome other members and parents to stay and help too. We are also asking for any new or used clothing, blankets, and small household items in good condition that the adult clientele of the Living Room might appreciate receiving. These items may be brought to the otera on any Sunday before February 26th. Thank you in advance for your generosity in sharing with those less fortunate.
